What players need to bring/have for Player Assessments:

·         Comfortable clothing. No bulky coats.

·         Tennis shoes. No cleats!

·         Their mitt.

·         RLL will provide bats, but if your (baseball) child chooses to bring their own, it must be an approved USA Baseball bat with appropriate logo. All other baseball bats will need to be removed from the building. Softball girls are welcome to bring their bat if they wish.

During assessments, players go through various catching, throwing, and pitching stations while being observed by the coaches of their division.

Coaches will later draft their own teams. These are not tryouts, and all players will be placed onto a team. If a player misses their assessment day (due to illness, other extenuating circumstances, or registering late), they will be placed into a blind draft on drafting day. Because coaches draft their own teams based on their own notes made at player assessments, RLL does not take any requests to be with specific players or coaches, into consideration for these divisions.

We understand parents and players have commitments outside of RLL, but it’s imperative that your player attends so they can be assessed by the Coaches that will be drafting their own teams.
